Noel’s Driving School – Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions are based on the Code of Practice for Approved Driving Instructors. It is important that you read and understand them and seek clarification if there are any questions or concerns.
You must ensure that you hold a valid current Driving Licence. You must present this –photo card and paper counterpart – on the first lesson; and an eyesight test will be given.
If you have prescription spectacles or contact lenses, it is your responsibility to wear them.
You must inform Noel’sDS of any points, endorsement, bans, convictions or restrictions of any kind on your licence.
Fitness to Drive
You are responsible to ensure that you are fit to drive. You must inform Noel’sDS of any medical condition, disability or injury that may affect your ability or entitlement to drive.
You must ensure that you do not drive whilst under the influence of drink or drugs –some medications drugs like hay fever remedies may cause drowsiness
If Noel’sDS feel that you are not fit to drive the lesson will be terminated and must still be paid for.
In the interest of comfort and safety, you are strongly advised to wear suitable clothing and footwear for the lesson.
Foul or abusive language will not be tolerated and may result in the termination of a lesson and forfeiture of monies paid.
Postponement of Lessons by the Pupil
At least 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellation or postponement of a lesson. Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice must be paid for.
Postponement of Lessons by Noel’sDS
If, due to vehicle breakdown or other emergency, a lesson has to be postponed at short notice, an alternative lesson will be given by mutual consent. In the case of a driving test, Noel’sDS will reimburse the Test fees.
Driving Tests take priority over lessons. A lesson booked may have to be rearranged if Noel’sDS receives late notice of a test at approximately the same time.
Noel’sDS will make every effort to be punctual but traffic conditions sometimes make this impossible. If a lesson needs to start late, Noel’sDS will endeavour to inform you as soon as it becomes apparent, however, it will end late accordingly.
In the interest of road safety, the right is reserved to withdraw use of a car for test use to pupils not deemed to be at test standard.
In most circumstances, use of the vehicle will be dependent upon passing a mock driving test marked to the same standards as the DSA Practical Test.
Driving Tests should not be booked without first checking with Noel’sDS the availability of the car.
Noel’sDS has no control over driving tests cancelled by the DSA, however, you may be able to claim a refund of lessons fees from the DSA when test are cancelled at short notice.
